One of the happiest collaborations of my life has been with Lisa Ferraro and the late and beloved Erika Luckett (with guitar above). We had composed about 20 songs together; some, like this one, not yet available in recorded form.
In 2009 Erika and Lisa did two performances at the Parliament of World Religions in Melbourne, Australia. On the day after Thanksgiving, we had just composed a new song, “You and I,” (based on a ghazal many of you will no doubt recognize) which we thought would be appropriate to premiere there. Someone filmed the song and presented it as kind of an anthem for the whole event, including various scenes from the Parliament itself. Some countries have prevented downloads from YouTube, which may be why you don’t see it here.
